Yes. You read that right... Movie Maniacs, the TeenZone and our friends at Alliance Films are offering a FREE Double-Pass to "The Hunger Games" movie screening at 7:00 p.m. on March 22nd at Chinook Theatre. The movie isn't actually released until the next day, so you'll get to see it before anyone else!

Now, this contest is going to be a little trickier than usual, since this movie has a little more buzz than usual. To enter, you have to tell us WHY YOU DESERVE TO GO TO THE HUNGER GAMES -- and be creative! We're going to pit your entries in a battle-to-the-death (well... kind of...) to see who the champion is. That person will be informed on Wednesday March 21st.

To enter:

1) Use the comments box below to tell us why YOU deserve to go to 'The Hunger Games'

2) Make sure to include a way to contact you- we need your name and library card number (which will not be posted). It would be awful to miss out on this chance -- make sure you include this info.

3) Be creative! Competition is stiffer than that in the 74th Hunger Games!

Good Luck! And may the odds be ever in your favour!

My sister and I would absolutely love to win these tickets, as we both read the book a few years ago. Reading the trilogy gave us something we had in common to talk about, and it brought us closer together. Over the course of the last year we've followed the production of this movie very closely, freaking out over casting news (we love Elizabeth Banks as Effie!!) and getting excited about set photos etc. When it came time to buy midnight tickets though we kept delaying it and putting it off, eventually making us miss the opportunity. I am going to be studying film and women's studies next year at U of C, and this movie would obviously relate to both my areas of interest. I can't wait to see if this film passes the Bechdel test!

This movie is one of the most hyped movies for a long while, and I want to be part of the hype! I want to see what Suzanne Collins did for the screen play and I am looking forward to the music, with artists like Taylor Swift performing. If this is a battle to the death contest, I can't fight very well with my thick glasses, I can't run very fast with my lack of physical abilities, and I am not strong enough to wield a weapon. The cornucopia in this arena is very big, with too many entrants, and too many good ideas. All I can do is to get the jabberjays on my side, and sing a good tune, all behind the safety of my computer screen.

My name is Katniss Everdeen. I am 17 years old.my home is district 12. I was in the hunger games. I escaped. The capitol hates me. I have as much charm as a dead slug. All those months of taking it for granted that Peeta thought I was wonderful are over. Finally, he can see me for who I really am. Violent. Distrustful. Manipulative. Deadly.Haymitch is right. I could live a thousand lifetimes and not deserve him. I can imagine him or my mother saying “ Just close your eyes, The sun is going down. You'll be alright, No one can hurt you now. Come morning light. You and I'll be safe & sound. ”Why am I not dead? I should be dead. It is probably best if I’m dead. Rue is dead. Prim is dead. President snow will die. I am the mockingjay. I am the face of the rebellion. While I live the revolution lives. I can hear his bloody, snake of a voice saying ”Katniss Everdeen, the girl who was on fire, you have provided a spark, that left unattended, may grow into an inferno that destroys Panem.” I WILL KILL SNOW. I WILL END THE HUNGER GAMES. And peeta said to me you love me? Real or not real? And I said REAL.

I would love these tickets so much and would really appreciate it. The books inspired me to stand up for my beliefs and fight for what is right. The book also taught me I can do anything if I put my mind to it. In the book I was devastated and thought of how heartbroken Rues family must have been, and then on the tour I learned how much her family needed her. I immediately thought of my sister, if she died my life would be a worthless pit. Thresh, Cato, Glimmer, Marvel, Foxface, clove and all the other tributes family would have lost one member of their family and their lives would be getting worse by the second. I think of those talented tributes, their lives could have amounted to something huge, something amounting to more than dying in some "games" Their lives were just pieces in gamemakers hands not caring about their lives. I thought of Prim and compared myself to her and my sister. If she was in the Hunger games I would be in desperation for her back and despair. I probably wouldn't eat or sleep or live in comfort. I would be crying all day allowing no comfort until she returned, if she returned. I know she would volunteer for me and I would too. Just like Katniss said "Because that's what you and I do. Protect each other." I would definitely watch this movie with my sister and for all those dead tributes. These books taught me determination and I am determined to change the world because of these books. The movie will just encourage me to start right away!

Hi :) I think that I'm deserving to go to see the Hunger Games as I read the trilogy when it first came out, and when it wasn't "trendy" to read it. I've been waiting 2 years to see the movie. These books have been my favourites ever since I first read them, and I love them. :) Thank you so much :)

The reason i think i deserve to go see the hunger games is because i never ever get to watch any movie i am in love with, its really sad. Because i really love the hunger games and have read the whole trilogy in less than 3 days because of it being just so thrilling with the action, adventure and romance within the books that it drives me nuts to just want to see the movie. I would literally do anything to go see the movie not because of how the characters are going to look like or if the movies going to be good just to have fun and enjoy it so that it will be unforgettable. I know my reasons for why i deserve to go see it probably wont be the best but atleast i will try to make the best out of the movie and thank them for working so hard on it. Because i know how it feels like to work hard on something and then someone just puts it down it definitly doesnt feel good. Cause trust me i work really hard in my life i always put my best into everything and have not had one night which i could spend without having some stress on my back. If i won this ticket i would go with my best friend and enjoy the movie with her and not worry about a single thing thats how much i care about the hunger games and also why i deserve it.

I adore the Hunger Games Trilogy. I stumbled upon the book one day and did not even realize the popularity of these books until I noticed the 3rd book in a shop window. I've told my friend, who is currently in South Africa, all about the books and she is reading them now too! I think it would be great to win because I am hoping that she will be back to Canada on opening week so we can go together to celebrate her return home. It would be a fantastic treat for both of us!

I think I should win this because I love the Hunger Games. They are some of THE best books I have ever read, and I am a huge fan of them. I have always been a bookworm, but with these books especially. I read them for hours, never wanting to leave the world of Panem. I am a very dedicated fan, and if I won I would SURELY dress up as a character from the books. I want the tickets extremely bad, and I HAVE read the books (twice!). I know lots of people want and deserve this, but I think I deserve it too. If you don't pick me, I will understand, but I hope you do. I really think Katniss sets an amazing example for every kid out there. She has been providing for her family since she was 11, and now she has stepped up once again to save her sister's life. I want to be like Katniss, and I need to see this movie if I want to succeed in that goal. And besides, I live in District 2. I HAVE to watch The Games. :) Thank you so much for the chance!!!
