Join the Calgary Public Library for a ten-week reading adventure, beginning Wednesday June 19. Each week we’ll dive into a new theme: Explore, Play, Imagine, Create, Live, Laugh, Learn, Grow and… Be. Together we’ll discover new books that will keep you reading all summer.

Join us for the Summer. Read. kick-off on Facebook Wednesday, June 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. where our Librarians will be on stand-by to chat about fabulous books. Post the names of the last three books you loved on our wall, and our Librarians will find your next great read.

How to enter

In person:
Visit your favorite branch, or to one you’ve never been before, and browse the Summer. Read. 2013 display with books, DVDs and CDs that connect to the theme. In each displayed item you’ll find a ballot. Fill in the ballot by sharing a review of an item you borrowed and return the ballot to the library for your chance to win.

Online:
You can also fill out a ballot on our website beginning June 19, by telling us what you thought of your current read, DVD or CD, and you can see what everyone else is borrowing. We’ll post the weekly theme every Wednesday on our Readers’ Nook blog and our Facebook page.

Prizes

Tote Bag

The weekly prize at every branch is a Calgary Public Library book bag as well as a bound journal. One online participant will also win a bag and journal each week.

The Grand Prize is a 32 GB NEXUS 7 Tablet. At the end five lucky participants will win a NEXUS 7 Tablet. All the weekly ballots from all 18 branches will be pooled for a chance to win one of four NEXUS 7 Tablets, and all the online posts will be pooled for a chance to win one NEXUS 7 Tablet.
