Crowfoot is a jewel in the crown of Calgary Public Library.
It opened with 100,000 books for 100,000 customers in 2003 and boasts an awesome view of the Rockies’ front range. Crowfoot is justifiably proud of its international reputation as a leader in energy efficiency with a silver LEED designation.
Among the countless programs provided to a huge community, a fantastically enthusiastic seniors group stands out.
Former Lieutenant-Governor Lois Hole, a devoted library supporter, won the heart of all Calgarians at the 2004 branch opening when she described libraries as “free and open public squares where men, women and children of all cultures and economic backgrounds can share in the collective wisdom and imagination of humanity.”
