BOOK AWARDS
CLA Book of the Year for Children Award
Established in 1947, the Canadian Library Association's Book of the Year Award for Children honors the best book written for children (up to age 12) that was published in Canada the previous year. Nominees for the award must be Canadian citizens or residents.
Winners are announced at the annual Canadian Library Association conference each June and receive a bronze medal. The award is sponsored by the National Book Service.

Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Award
Established in 1971, the Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Illustrator's Award is awarded to the outstanding illustrator of a children's book that was published in Canada the previous year. Nominees for the award must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

Established in 1980, the Canadian Library Association's Young Adult Book Award
recognizes the author of an outstanding English language Canadian book written
for young adults between 13 and 18 years old. Nominees for the award must be a
Canadian citizen or landed immigrant.
Winners are announced in the spring at the annual Canadian Library Association
conference and receive a leather-bound book with the title, author, and award
seal embossed on the cover in gold.
